Function 1: Reduce friction and make rotation smoother
Friction is bound to occur between the rotating “axis” and the rotating support. Bearings are used between the rotating “shaft” and the rotating support part.
Bearings reduce friction, make rotation smoother and reduce energy consumption. This is the biggest role of bearings.
Function 2: Protect the rotation support part so that the “axis” of rotation is kept in the correct position
There is a lot of force between the rotating “axis” and the rotating support part. The bearing prevents the rotating support part from being damaged by this force, keeping the rotating “shaft” in the correct position.
It is because of these roles of bearings that we can use the machine repeatedly for a long time.
If there are no bearings in the car, the parts will not be able to rotate smoothly, consume more energy, and the parts supporting the rotation will soon fail, resulting in the car cannot operate safely and comfortably.
