The inspection of the one-way clutch is shown in Figure 4-20. Use a special toolto insert it into the groove of the oil pump drive hub and the outer race of theone-way clutch, Then press down on the inner race of the one-way clutch withyour fingers and rotate it to check if it rotates smoothly clockwise and lockscounterclockwise. if the one-way clutch is damaged, the hydraulic torqueconverter assembly needs to be replaced.
Place the hydraulic torgue converter and flwhction side facing downwerds on thesembly to ensure that the hydraulic torgus converteplatform, and thon install the oil pump asand oil pump drive hub are well engaged with the active part of the oil pumpInsert the transmission input shaft (turbine shaft) into the turbine hub tokeep the oil pump and hydraulic toraue converter stationary, then rotate theturbine shaft clockwise and counterclockwise repeatedly, lf the rotation isnot smooth or there is noise, replace the hydraulic torque converter.
